I've brought myself up by my own bootlaces from living on my own at 15 to becoming a teenage parent at 17 and educating myself to Masters level twice over. I'm not looking for a medal. I just want to share my story with you, the tale of how I've taken control of my life against all the odds. The road is bumpy for everyone but it's your character that will see you through. I've been asked to tell my story at quite a few events and it's one which people seem to enjoy - everyone takes something different from it - and they connect with me afterwards and share what part of my story inspired them and why. That's what I get out of it.
I am able to use my experiences in life to mentor and motivate others and even myself when I need it. I also completed a Certificate in Mentoring and Managing People to formalise the life-skills I already possessed. This qualification is now used in my business life and it's a skill that ensures that I get the best out of the people I work with - that's if they are interested in doing their best of course.
