It's a month until I deliver my TEDx Talk at Shrule Arts Centre in Omagh. I'm writing this blog post to verbalise my nerves in the hope, I just 'deal with it.'! So you could say, this blog post is for me!

I had a clear vision of what I wanted to talk about eight months ago when I got the fabulous news that I was chosen to be one of an amazing line-up of TEDx Omagh speakers. However, with each attempt to get it down, my writer's block kicked in. Now if you follow my tales, you will know that there's not much that will hold me back from words or writing. It's just what I do. It's who I am.

So what of Ted then? Why has Ted been my nemeses for the past eight months? Is it the stage? The line-up? The organiser? Matthew Beaumont is scary but surely not that scary?! :)

I think I've taken this speaking gig quite seriously if I'm honest. The challenge to share your 'big idea' which ties in with the TEDx Omagh theme of Transforming The Future is a big ask. And I wondered (am wondering) if I'd taken on more than I could chew with this one.

Like who's actually got a big idea that can transform the future? Matthew has really set down the gauntlet for us.

Anyway, I'm going to do it. I have 18 minutes, that's about 3,000 words and there will be no notes, no auto-cue, just me and my 'big idea.'

I'm going to spend the next 31 days finding my courage, so wish me luck!

If you haven't got a ticket, don't worry, you'll get to watch each TEDx talk online. Here's the list of speakers. I'm really excited to hear their stories.
